Sonia Trocmé-Le Page - the Head of the European Chapter of EVE-olution Foundation won the prize in the “La Tribune Women's Awards” contest, in the Finance category. “La Tribune” is one of the leading French daily economic and financial newspapers. Sonia received the award on 8 November 2010, at the ceremony organized at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris, in presence of Christine Lagarde (Minister of Economy, Industry and Employment) from the hands of Severin Cabannes (Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Société Générale Group).

Sonia is the Co-Founder & Partner of Global Private Equity, an international placement advisor whose business is to raise insitutional and private money for private equity and infrastructure managers.

Nepaleses women entrepreneurs in Paris NOV. 4-7,2010

In partnership with the World Women Trade Fair and the FWEAN the European chapter of EVE-olution Foundation after 21 days in Europe welcomed in Paris 7 Women entrepreneurs exporter of Pashmina, tea, clothing, traditional metal handicraft...to attend workshops in communication, visual graphic, inventory managemement and revenue recognition and guided visits to luxury boutiques and stores.

This program is designed for women from developing nations such as Nepal that have an enormous impact in their county’s economy. Nepalese Pasmina exporter said that for her paying taxes means sponsoring their goverment to care more about services given to the population such as water and electricity.

Pramila Acharya Rijal,President-FWEAN Vice Chair-SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council expressed appreciation for undertaking the initiation on building the capacity of the women entrepreneurs and look forward to being connected with the next part of the program involving business coaching focus export in Nepal.

Dilma Rousseff Brazil President

Dilma Rousseff became the first woman as an elected Brazil President (Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America).

Rousseff won 55.8 percent of valid votes while the opposition candidate, Jose Serra, pocketed 44.2 percent of the vote. Rousseff is scheduled to be sworn in as president of the country on January 1, 2011.

Dilma Rousseff said in his victory speech on Monday (1 / 11) "we will not rest while many Brazilian citizens are starving" said Rousseff. "Eradication of extreme poverty is my goal."

UN WOMEN
September 14, 2010: The United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, and appointed Ms. Michelle Bachelet, former President of Chile, as the head of UN Women being in charge of United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. Officially starting her appointment in January 2011.

September 13, 2010-09-15: Irina Bokova, Director-General of the UNESCO invited Rachel Mayanja – United Nations Assistant Secretary-General, Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women and Aminata Toure, Chief, Gender, Human Rights and Culture Branch, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to present the UN Women. Invited at this event Nancy V. Gomez, President of the EVE-olution Foundation speaks up responding to need express by Mrs. Toure for more “economical empowerment”. Ambassador Martina Nibbeling-Wrießnig, Permanent Delegate of Germany to UNESCO pointing out the need for media support.
